From the turquoise color to the vintage vibe, I loved everything about this 1950s refurbished Royal typewriter when I saw it for sale several years ago on Three Potato Four, a mom-and-pop shop that curates retro and modern items for the home. My parents got me two typewriters that year for my birthday…one of them is a gray Royal. Though it doesn’t evoke the same happy feel of the turquoise, I still appreciate its nostalgic quality. It sits in my hallway on my grandfather’s mid-century desk.

Speaking of shopping regrets, I bought an aqua retro wall clock (similar to this ’50s-style one from Infinity) at an eclectic shop in LA a few years ago. Unfortunately, I left it at my hotel. And follow-up calls to the staff and housekeeping yielded nothing. Sigh.
